![]() ![]() Someone asked me to make a brush like what they used in a different program, and they showed me the tip and what it looked like when it was used. After that, you should have a problem making any brush you want, and really never feel like buying brushes, because they are too simple, and the best ones are made in the version you are using. Making the brush is just part of learning how to make a brush and save it, so it can be used when you want. This will explain what everything does, and even show you how to make a brush that can draw see through ribbons. If it don't open with Brush Presets selected, select that now to find you ![]() Now while you have the brush tool selected you will see a tab on the top bar to the right called Brushes. After you do, select it so you can do the next step. If you paste this image in a new file the image size is 72x72 pixels. ![]() (You can download this, but try right clicking and select copy with the image below.) You can use this image for the brush tip to create the ribbon brush. To make a parallel line you select a square area by using the Shift key. The brush tip also needs to have a white background to form a square with unused areas. The Brush tip needs to be square, and anything that is not square will be deformed and made square. I will explain how to make a brush do that. Making Brushes in PhotoshopWhen I want to draw a ribbon I used two pencils to keep the same distance to create the twisted ribbon effect. Then you will need to set it up to make it work the way you want. That will get the brush tip in your brush tips. Then go to the Edit drop down and select Define Brush. You might need to hold shift to copy the square area, so it is not distorted. You can paint one spot and copy it, and then go to Photoshop and paste it in and then select that area. If you want the same brush you will need to make it the same, and make a copy of the brush tip. If you have brushes from Photoshop 7 you can't use them in Photoshop CS6 or CC. ![]()
